Parenting Expert Dr. Matt Albert. Charter Schools. Teacher.

Dr. Matt Albert is a parenting expert. He is the executive director at the Center for Reflective Communities, a non-profit organization that provides training to parents and mental health professionals aimed to enhance relationships between children and caregivers. Prior to joining CRC, he founded and ran New Los Angeles Charter Schools, public charter schools serving 600 students in grades K-8. Dr. Albert started his career as a high school teacher and administrator at a Los Angeles independent school, where he experienced a wide range of parenting styles.

Dr. Albert was part of a team of experts who developed a school leadership certificate program at UCLA Extension and teaches a course on school management and leadership in the program. He is currently a member of the board at New Los Angeles Charter Schools.

His parenting tips help parents navigate their ups and downs with his Big Picture Parenting philosophy, leading to more reflective and effective relationships.

He lives in Los Angeles where he authors the Big Picture Parenting blog on Psychology Today. His two school-aged children don’t always agree that he’s such a great parenting expert. They may feel differently when they get older.
